Change a workout for one athlete

Give one athlete their own version of a batch workout, without changing it for anyone else.

Someone is coming back from injury, or needs a shorter run? Change the workout just for them. Everyone else in the batch keeps the original.

From the athlete's page

  1. Open Athletes, then the athlete.
  2. On the Week tab, go to the week and tap the workout to open it.
  3. Tap Change just for {name}.
  4. Edit the title, type, steps or coach notes. You can type the steps or use the builder, as in Build a running workout.
  5. Tap Save for {name}.

The athlete gets a notification and an email that their workout changed. On their Week tab the workout now says "just for them".

Go back to the batch workout

Open the workout again and tap Edit {name}'s version, then Back to batch workout. The athlete gets the batch version again.

From Plans › Athletes

You can also do this in the Athletes view. Click the athlete's cell, tap Change, type the new plan, choose Just {name} and tap Save change.

Good to know

  • The button shows only for workouts that are still planned, today or later.
  • A workout the athlete already did can't be changed.
  • Later edits to the batch workout don't reach this athlete's version. If you move the batch workout to another day, their version moves with it.
  • A group pace like "5K pace" turns into this athlete's own pace from their pace group.
  • To plan a workout for a few athletes from the start, use Pick athletes in the workout editor. See Plan workouts on the calendar.
  • Edit their plan on the Week tab opens the batch's calendar in Plans, where changes reach the whole batch.
