Your batch has runners at different levels. With pace groups you write a workout once, like "90 s @ 5K pace + 90 s @ float", and each athlete gets their own group's pace, in the app and on their watch.
Set up your groups
- Open Athletes › Pace groups.
- Tap New group. Groups are named A+, A, B+, B and so on. Click a name to change it.
- Tap + Pace to add a pace column, like "5K pace", "Float" or "Easy". Click a column name to rename it.
- Type each group's pace as min:sec per km, like 4:15. Leave a cell empty if that group doesn't use that pace.
Changes save when you click away from the box.
Put athletes in a group
- Tap the athletes count on the group's row.
- Tick the athletes. Use the search box to find them.
- Tap Save.
An athlete is in one pace group at a time. Adding them to a group moves them out of their old one.
Use a pace in a workout
- In the builder, set a step's Target to Group pace and pick the pace name. See Build a running workout.
- Or type it: "@5kpace" or "@ 5K pace" is read as your "5K pace".
When the workout is published, each athlete sees their group's number as a small pace range.
Good to know
- Changing a pace, or who is in a group, updates the coming published workouts that use it.
- Renaming a pace column renames it in every group.
- An athlete with no group, or whose group has no number for that pace, sees the pace name instead of a number.
- The athlete's group shows next to their name in Plans › Athletes.
- To delete a group, tap the bin at the end of its row.
